Introduction of the Frecciarossa 1000 in Pistoia on March 26, 2013 Introduction of the Frecciarossa 1000 in Pistoia on March 26, 2013 by E656073

Europe’s fastest train, the 360 kph (225 mph) Frecchiarossa 1000, starts service between Milan and Rome on April 25. Trenitalia schedules the new train for a nonstop time of 2 hours, 20 minutes, about 25 minutes faster than the current best schedules. The manufacturer, Bombardier, says the train (“RedArrow,” in English) is designed for up to 400 kph, but 360 will be the limit for now.
