Florence Airport Link Opens

A new light rail route links Firenze (Florence) Amerigo Vespucci Airport with the central rail station. Trains run every four to five minutes on most days; every eight to 10 minutes on Sundays and holidays; the trip takes about 20 minutes. If you’re heading to the main hotel centers, you’ll have to change to tram line No. 1, a bus, or taxi at the rail station.
Keep in mind that the Florence airport has limited capacity, with a single, 5700-foot runway. Many flights nominally headed for Florence land at nearby Pisa airport, which is connected to Florence by a direct rail link from Pisa terminal to Florence central station. More information
