On Monday (Aug. 10), Swedish national train operator SJ inaugurated high-speed X2000 service linking the two capital cities (Oslo and Stockholm), cutting travel time from more than 5-1/2 hours to 4-1/2 hours, a cut that brings the train closer to competing with low-fare airlines, downtown-to-downtown.
